Pastor Alton Dixon or “Pastor D” as so many affectionately refer to him, planted The HOT Church in Waxahachie, TX in August 2022 with 17 people. He also previously pastored The Faith Church in Lancaster, TX which he began pastoring in 2015. In October of 2024 the HOT merged with Faith to become The HOT Church.

Pastor D attended New Orleans Theological Seminary in 2003. During this time, he was chosen by the North American Mission Board as the only African-American to attend a six (6) week mission trip to the country of Romania.  While in Romania, Rev. Dixon was blessed to minister in sermon, and evangelize to over 8,000 people. 

In 2005 God used Hurricane Katrina to lead Pastor Dixon to Dallas, Texas where he served as Young Adult Pastor at the historic St. John Missionary Baptist Church of Dallas. He also served as an Associate Minister at Disciple Central Community Church of Desoto, Tx. In 2015, Faith Chapel Community Church, which is now The Faith Church, elected, and elevated him to Senior Pastor. God used him to grow the church from 11 to 200 members in 3 years. The Faith Church over the years has given away 500 Pair of shoes, hundreds of gas cards, and thousands of dollars to domestic violence survivors and shelters. Pastor Dixon is currently attending Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he is pursuing his Masters in Christian Education.
